Ubuntu Guide - How To Add Repositories

Last Night my friend and i have a bit conversation about Ubuntu and how to add/remove program using repositories DVD.


Well maybe this kind of question allways appear to those ubuntu newbie, and i hope this tutorial can help you guys.

 


First, how to add repo DVD, there’s two way to do this, one by clicking the sytem>administration>software source,

you might to ask confirm for password, now in "third-party software" click "add cd-rom", follow this step till it done.


Add/Remove 

Two by terminal command, by typing -> name@where$ sudo apt-cdrom add,

now it’ll same with the one above it’ll ask to prompt password, follow this step till it done.

Second, how to browse the repo.

The simple way is with system>administration>"synaptic package manager"

now after you finish browse the repo and have the package tick, click on apply button to install the package.
